Max & Diane August

MAX: Somewhere in the middle of my experiences as a systems programmer, designer, analyst, and website designer I moved my focus from technology to  people . . . and that’s when I started experiencing real collaboration.  Most of my attention and energy today are on the people and less on the technology.

Technology is great, but it alone doesn’t solve problems, create new products, or provide services . . . people do!

DIANE: I’ve collaborated as an artist, filmmaker, and small business owner all my life. Collaboration is the key to getting things done that I didn’t think were possible.

We’ve learned that people working effectively together can solve problems more creatively, create better products, and provide better services than a person working alone. Although some things are possible to do alone, when we co-create with others magic can happen.

Max is a member of these associations . . .

Max is certfied as coach by the Coach Training Alliance.

Diane is a member of . . .

She is certified as a coach by the Relationship Coaching Institute.

We’re both members of . . .

    Hi Max and Diane,
It was great to find your blog today. I too have been in IT for a long time and have done support, analysis, software development and support on collaboration tools. AND yes, the shift happenned to concentrating on the human side of collaboration. Technology is great but it is a tool only, the people drive this! I will keep checking your blog out. CHeck out mine at http://collaborationtalk.wordpress.com Thanks and have a great day!

    Hi Debbie,
I checked out http://collaborativetalk.wordpress.com and see that we’re on the “same page”.

I also went to http://www.sesatlanta.com and saw that you’re working with your partner also. . . Great!

Diane and I had a company called People/Information Interface (PII) in the ’80s and we offered very similar services to the ones that you are offering with SES. I was a hardcore “techie” at that time and had to develop my people skills and Diane was a “master facilitator”. She developed and ran a year long facilitator training program in Chicago. I met her at a weekend workshop that she was leading. We moved to California and worked together for several years until we were both drawn to other paths (but staying together as a couple). Now we’re back working together . . . the spiral dance of life goes on.

Thanks for checking in with us.

I’m curious how did you find out that our Blog came online?

    Hi!
I found your blog through a basic search on wordpress of other collaboration blogs. Yes, I work with my partner also! It is good in deed. I am a certified facilitator through the IAF which I am certain Diane is familiar with. That along with the Certification in Business Analyst role seemed to morph me into this area. I support all the collaboration tools for Time Warner and when I left I realized this is my passion so I am linking it all together! I will continue to ck in with you two, please continue to check in with me as well.
